VC is excelling at funding startups promising to make spreadsheets more powerful. Two recent raises: Coefficient with $18M and Equals with $16M. Database connections, automations, powerful analytics, and lots of AI - everything you expect.
If you want something more advanced, Directus raised $7M so that “any company can quickly visualize its data [by building a no-code app], no matter the underlying SQL database”. Data analytics is becoming more accessible - transitioning from SQL queries to PowerBI to no-code apps.
Finally, Mem - a note-taking app with AI powers - raises $23.5M led by OpenAI. The concept is simple - you take notes, and AI organizes them, answers questions based on your notes, and so on. If only AI could read through my horrible handwriting…
