The Flowlie Times #51
Data rooms coming to Flowlie; rise of Convertible Notes; striking findings from 2023; and more
Welcome to The Flowlie Times,
Data Rooms (links) are coming to Flowlie
Founders will soon be able to link their data rooms in their Flowlie one-pager. They will be hidden behind a password-protected gate to ensure only the right investors can access it.
And not just that! We are going one step further - giving founders a recommended checklist of items to include in the data room (depending on the fundraising stage). We hope this will guide founders toward a smoother fundraising experience!
Articles we enjoyed:
1️⃣ One of the most thorough and proper explanations we have seen on Convertible Notes vs SAFEs comparison.
2️⃣ “Is GPT-4 a Good Data Analyst?”
Three experts tested this by having GPT-4 AND human data analysts tackle tasks across various datasets. The results? GPT-4 outperformed the intern and junior analysts in most areas but didn't quite catch up to the senior researchers.
3️⃣ “Striking findings from 2023” from Pew Research Center:
A record-high share of 40-year-olds in the U.S. have never been married,
About half of Americans say the increased use of artificial intelligence in daily life makes them feel more concerned than excited,
For the first time in over 30 years of public opinion polling, Americans’ views of the U.S. Supreme Court are more negative than positive,
And so much more…
Podcast highlight
Pablo Casilimas, co-founder and managing partner of One Six One Ventures, joins Vlad Cazacu, co-founder and CEO of Flowlie, to discuss his unconventional journey from an engineering student, through content marketing and event organizing, to founding 161 Ventures alongside a close friend.
Venture announcements that caught our eye:
1️⃣ Modal, a platform for data and analytics professionals, has secured a $25 million Series A funding round led by Left Lane Capital and Ensemble VC. Modal focuses on personalized AI training and 1-1 coaching, departing from traditional subscription models to charge based on successful skill development. The company aims to revolutionize skill enhancement, promising enhanced platform capabilities and expanded market reach with the new investment.
2️⃣ OneNotary, an online notarization provider, has closed a $5 million Series A funding round led by Jackson Square Ventures, with backing from DocuSign Founder Tom Gonser and others. This investment will fuel OneNotary's growth in marketing, sales, and product development to meet the rising demand for online verification services. The company's partnership with DocuSign will integrate its platform into DocuSign's suite of notary solutions, offering customers seamless access to third-party notaries.
Have a great week,
